Now I want to talk about Kombucha. That is obviously utterly unrelated to these Banana Oatmeal Cookies, however I understand you won't obey.

Let me start off by saying that my husband beverages apple cider vinegar mixed with warm water every morning to decrease inflammation or anything like that.

He claims it's magical. I assert it's nasty.

While I know this will seem spectacular (because it is)I literally dry heave in the sight and smell of the early ritual to a daily basis. He loves that about me personally.

Depending upon this reaction, one would think that I would stay far away from Kombucha, directly? I mean, after all, it definitely has a vinegary tang.

However, for whatever reason, I keep trying it. I Would like to enjoy it SO DANG BAD.

These Banana Oatmeal Cookies are super simple to make and filled with banana flavor.

I'm literally a marketer's dream cause each and every time I see somebody I know liking a sip, or realising their favourite brand and flavor using a boomerang on Instagram, I am all,"Perhaps that one will really taste acceptable!" .

Just imagine me using air quotes around the word enjoying cause I think it is tough to believe this stuff is truly enjoyable in any sense of the term.

Along with spoiler alert. None of them taste great. None.

Even those which people claim are light really are a large no-go for me. They taste like freaking sweet vinegar.

I'm basically sure that anybody who drinks this fermented tea material has zero taste buds, or severely funky ones.

I have literally tried every single brand that my neighborhood marketplace carries and I HATED, not disliked, HATED every single one.

Yes, I know hate is a really strong term, but there is really no other way to describe my emotions towards kombucha. And I only had to inform y’all my true feelings on this one. Who is with me?

Believe me, I want to take pleasure in the things because it apparently has a ton of health benefits, but I'll be the girl regretting a La Croix and reserving vinegary flavors for salad dressingtable.

Let's totally switch gears. One thing I always love? Cookies.

From no bake biscuits and easy sugar cookies to those banana oatmeal biscuits, it's turned into a love affair that's gone on here in MBA for almost a decade now.

While I am not promising these banana oatmeal biscuits are the least bit healthy (because hello sugar and butter), I'm claiming that they are delicious.

They have the ideal amount of banana flavor and a lovely chewy feel as a result of its oats. The chocolate chips are simply an added bonus.

Everyone who attempted these banana oatmeal cookies believed they tasted a lot like banana bread, but clearly with an entirely different texture. We dug it about here.

And in my estimation, they are good a terrific alternative to traditional banana bread.

All these Banana Oatmeal Cookies possess a soft, buttery feel. If you're looking for a traditional oatmeal cookie, then this isn't the cookie cutter you're looking for. If you are not a fan of oatmeal biscuits my favorite chocolate chip biscuits, you may just become your new fave.

I enjoy these cookies somewhat about the side, therefore I bake them for 9 or 10 minutes. If you want these to be cooked through, I would shoot for 10-11 seconds.

I'll mention that the oats almost makes them look like a breakfast cookie, therefore they're all kinds of amazing using a cup of tea or coffee first thing in the afternoon.

I'd add some chopped peppers into a batch instead of chocolate chips, but everyone definitely favored the chocolate chips over the nuts.

These cookies are a great way to use those super ripe bananas sitting on your counter right now. I won't even tell anyone that they're not really breakfast cookies. Enjoy!




1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 large egg

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

3 1/4 cup old fashioned oats

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

From the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, or in a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

Scrape the sides of the bowl and mix in the egg until completely incorporated. Scrape the sides of the bowl and add in the mashed bananas and vanilla.

In a medium bowlwhisk together the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.

Gently add the the flour mixture to the banana mixture and blend until just blended.

Scrape down the sides of the bowl and then stir to recombine.

Stir in the oats and chocolate chips and blend until incorporated.

Use a medium cookie scoop try these out (about 1.5 tbsp ) to scoop the dough onto prepared cookie sheets leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake in preheated oven for about 9-11 minutes.

Remove cookies from the oven and then gently press on the tops of each cookie with the bottom of a drinking glass. Since these cookies do not spread considerably, this will help give them a traditional cookie shape.
